Meet MEET's Instructors

The MEET team is comprised of young and highly motivated Palestinians, Israelis and Americans that are determined to make the instruction an unforgettable experience on all levels: academic, professional as well as social.

The Details
•This year's program will be held at the Givat Ram campus of Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
•It is a 5-week instructional summer-camp on Java and entrepreneurship, with student spending 8 hr/day, 5 days/week on campus. Students are Israeli and Palestinian teenagers from Jerusalem and the surrounding area.
•This year there will be 3 groups of students: year-one students who spend their first summer at MEET covering the basics of Java, year-two students who will use the skills learned last year to create large-scale Java applications, and year-three students who will be engaged in professional projects sponsored by companies and organizations in the region.
• There will be about 10 instructors total: 4 for year-one students, 3 for year-two, and 3 for year-three.

Approximate Dates:
• June 26th - August 9th

Before the Summer:
During the second half of the spring semester and the month of June before traveling to Jerusalem, the instructors are charged with several minor tasks. In April and May all instructors are invited to attend a few meetings where they become acquianted with each other, learn a little about the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and some tools of conflict resolution. In addition instructors start preparing for the summer by commencing work on the curriculum.

1 week before the start:
The MEET summer program itself is comprised of five fun and Java-filled weeks. The instructors, however, arrive in Jerusalem a week early to jump-start work on the curriculum. That initial week is also a good time to get situated and get to know each other and the MEET staff from Jerusalem.
