Instructors
This year's group of 8 instructors was selected from a pool of over 60 applicants from 17 countries. Here are their stories:

Benji
Reuben (Benji) Sterling is a graduate student in Computer Science at the MIT. He earned his B.S. in EECS from MIT in 2003, and returned for graduate school after working as a software engineer in Los Angeles, California for two years. Benji is also a volunteer coach for the MIT varsity gymnastics team and enjoys table tennis, ice hockey, karaoke, and piano.

Dan
Daniel Ramage of Westfield, NJ graduated from MIT in 2004 with an S.B. in Computer Science and an S.B. in Mathematics. He worked the following year at IBM's Zurich Research Lab on machine learning applications to medical and business data. Daniel will begin studying for a PhD in Computer Science at Stanford University in September 2005.

Gabi
Known as "Gabi", Gabriel is originally from Lansing, Michigan. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in June, 2005. At the end of August, 2005, Gabi will begin working for the IBM Corporation in Rochester, Minnesota. He enjoys reading, small-boat sailing, and recreational cycling in his spare time.

Kwan
Kwan H. Lee is currently a Ph.D. student in the Viral Communications research group at MIT Media Lab. He has been a software engineer at GTE and Bose Corporation and has expertise in wireless communications, client server systems and user interface prototyping. His current interests are in collaborative systems and massively scalable systems. In the spare time, he loves playing all kinds of sports.

Masha
Masha has just graduated from MIT with a BS in physics and a minor in political science. After MEET, she will be travelling to her native Ukraine on an fellowship to investigate the causes of the Orange Revolution. While she is still undecided about how to reconcile her diverging interests in life, she hopes that her experience with MEET will give her a fresh prespective on her future.

Max
Max Goldman graduated from MIT in 2004 with a SB in Mathematics with Computer Science and a minor in Theater. He is currently a graduate student at the Technion in Haifa. Max has been working with MEET since its first summer and while he wears a number of hats in the organization, the instructor hat is his favorite.

Muyiwa
Olumuyiwa Oni recently graduated from MIT with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. In his free time, he is teaching, tutoring programming, or building random devices. His favorite pasttime is futbol and, in the future, he hopes to go into design engineering. His message to students at MEET: "This summer is going to be very exciting, JAVA is one of the most useful computer language tools out there."

Thatcher
Thatcher Clay is currently a freshman at MIT majoring in Chemical Engineering. He spent hisfirst year at MIT split between his studies and various community service endeavors, such as mentoring middle school children on science fair projects, teaching computer literacy classes, and setting up an internet café at a rehabilitation center in rural Mexico. He enjoys cycling and playing squash.
