2007 Year 1 Projects

Paint

KISSpaint, comparable to Microsoft paint, is MEET's very own painting/picture-editing utility. Features include the ability to create a new image, load existing images (including digitized photographs), save the work. Specific drawing tools included differently shaped brushes and the ability to change brush size and color, a text tool, an eraser, a clear-all button, and so on. The team was led by Ted and included Rachel, Ghadeer, Mohammad, Anna, Jameel, Alex, and Avichai.

Connect Four

The Connect 4 project implements a Java version of the popular board game by the same name. The goal of the game is to be the first of 2 competitors to place 4 game pieces in a row on the game grid - vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. The team was led by Lior and Rafat and included Lamia, Shir, Issa, Dror, David, and Wasseem.

Simon

In the Simon project, users play a memory game where they have to memorize a pattern of colors displayed on the screen and then repeat this pattern. Features include two levels of difficulty and a simple, easy-to-use interface. Simon was led by Mike and included Zahi, Alon, Dana, Rand, Guy, and Amir.

Mad Libs

The Mad Libs project is a Java implementation of the popular word game where players randomly pick a series of parts of speech; these words are then inserted into blank spaces in a ready-made story. This Java version allows users to create their own unique story templates, and then to play MadLibs. The team was led by Helen and included Harel, Hadas, Nagham, Mais, Ahmad, Kassem, and Ofek.

Snake

The Snake project allows users to play the game of Snake - a classic computer game where you guide a snake on the screen, avoiding collisions between the snake's head an another part of its body or the walls while trying to consume food (the snake gets longer every time it eats!). Features include a help section, an introduction graphic, a "Hall-of-Fame" with database for high scores, and the animation which allows the snake to move. The team was led by Brennan and included Baraa, Shahira, Mor, Danny, Shmuel, and Sadek.

Meeting Scheduler

The Meeting Scheduler project gives users an easy way to schedule meetings for a group. A group of users can list times when each user is available for a meeting; then, each user can declare whether or not they are available for each time on the list. The MEET Meeting Scheduler then schedules the "best" meeting time by picking a time when all, or the greatest number, of members are available. The team was led by Yohannan and Wissam and included Noora, Sahar, Maor, Amir, Shira, and Mahmoud.
